Richard puts projects together with a variety of partners, often new to eachother and new to collaborating in public space. He has raised over £3.5million for organisations. Projects and programmes Richard has self-initiated and delivered for clients as commissions include:

Place Markers & People Markers: 2016/17/18
Richard designed and delivered a series of community consultation labs exploring new ways to get to know a local constituency, its values and its concerns staged in a public space. For Place Markers, members of the public were invited to contribute to a conversation about people, place and resilience through three gaming mechanisms designed around town, street and home. Over the ten day period, four asset maps were developed, capturing ideas, issues and responses to create an accessible landscape of project, programme and policy starting points for the local authority. Building on Place Markers, People Markers saw the public play with questionnaires to discuss data farming, revealing who they were and what they felt was important locally; this developed into a pop-up conversation park for a local authority. It is currently being reworked as a peripatetic outdoor discussion space 'Room to Talk' for community engagement contexts and community development agencies.

70:70 Vision: 2018 with photographer Chris Haddon (UK)
Presenting large format photographic images of 70 local residents, along with their stories of life in Harlow, this installation was designed as a talking point… literally offering a chance to sit and chat in one of the 70 seats built into the exhibition, which aimed to make conversation between individuals and communities matter. 70/70 Vision was commissioned by Harlow Council as the culmination of a year long series of events to celebrate Harlow's seventieth anniversary. The installation focusses on the residents of the town, rather than the architecture and master plans that more usually spring to mind when we think of New Towns.
